I am wondering if this is an important distinction between fanfic now & many other genres -- fanfic as a mode that is often about satisfying some particular *desire,* and not all fiction is trying to … do that? #FanLIS

@jnmillerLIS quotes interviewees who talk about how the tag structures & genre codification now inherent in fandom means that the reader knows *exactly* what they are getting -- which is a desire for satisfaction that is foreign to many other forms of fiction. #FanLIS

The chat at #FanLIS about RDF makes me think that there should be a Fan Studies node for ARC (I direct one of the nodes @18thConnect, and I can say that ARC is moving to include more concept/disciplinary nodes)
