The product of a Karrakin terraforming project abandoned after the Interest War, the coastline has been modeled on the famously dramatic fjords of Karrakis’ southernmost continent. The landscape bears the hallmarks of a COMMENCER project left to go wild for many centuries without upkeep, but it is clear that the geotect responsible for the design of this coast did so with immense love and care, managing to adapt famous landforms from the original coastline to the new world’s unique weather and hydrological patterns with an uncanny level of precision, and elsewhere embedding their own signature in the cliffside.

Far Field playtesting still going well, but the urge to tinker never goes away. I think in the next playtest version I'm going to be adding a new tag (Limited) to handle the times where invoking or using an aspect or resource requires you to mark it.

GM: Now you're inside the medical lab, what do you do next? Fatima: I approach the rank with the green liquid, and see if I can make out what's inside. GM: The tank is murky, but you wipe away a layer of grime from the glass. A serpentine form witness within, clearly responding to your proximity. You think this is a living version of the creature you found earlier. Beth: "Oh cool! Let me look!" Fatima: "Be careful. We're still not sure what killed those mercs earlier." Beth: "I will, don't worry." Are there any controls? Is the tank connected to anything? GM: There are some wires coming from the back of the tank, which connect to a chunky terminal. It seems to be operational. Beth: I want to access the terminal and see if it has any more information about this creature. The scientists here must have been studying it. GM: Go for it! The security alert is still active, so make a roll to find out what information you can access.

Doing some more work on Far Field aspects; researching and writing up "less-lethal" flash grenades for the Security role is making me feel sick to my stomach (which I guess is the point of including them, ultimately). #FarField

Doing some more work on downtime systems. I want to do more to tie the characters to the wider galaxy, and showcase the long term impact of their actions.

It's one thing to confront an ethical challenge in the moment, but seeing the consequences of your choices play out has more weight.

Reworking the twists mechanic in Far Field based on feedback. The new version should be easier to GM for (fewer twists, more guidance on what a twist actually does to a scene).

This was probably the weakest mechanic in the game so I'm excited to see how the new version works out!

Very excited by the worlds I've been working on for Far Field. Their function has evolved as I work on them; the initial vision was something like Wildsea's reaches, but Far Field is more mission-driven so needs something more focused. Excited to talk about these more!
