The #FirthOfThames also has very high levels of #acidification caused by #FarmRunoff - with pH levels lower than 7.9 in autumn - not expected in the open ocean until 2100. Upwelling on the US west coast - seriously affecting oyster hatcheries sees water reach 7.6 pH levels.

Part of the emissions release is from nitrogen - high in the #FirthOfThames from #FarmRunoff, which causes algae blooms in autumn. Bacteria, breaking the algae down as they die, release carbon dioxide & suck oxygen out of surrounding seawater killing other marine life
