The fact that someone in 1995 decided that, because 100Mbit/s was way faster than 10Mbit/s, the new standard should be named "Fast Ethernet" will never cease to amuse me.

We can now do 10Gbit/s over copper, not to mention fiber.
"Fast Ethernet" will always be slower.
