In the 1870s, Gabriel Fauré often had to change apartments due to financial difficulties. He lived in a "bohemian" atmosphere, which transformed his character, according to historian Jean-Michel Nectoux. The silent teenager became a laughing, seductive young man. #Fauré100

Upon his return to Paris in October 1871, Gabriel Fauré was designated as the choirmaster at Église Saint-Sulpice, working alongside the composer and organist Charles-Marie Widor (1844-1937). #Fauré100 #Fauré2024
He wasn't unemployed for long, since he quickly found, with Saint-Saëns's help, a position as the assistant organist at Notre-Dame de Clignancourt church in North Paris.
