The stumps of two dead trees are further to the right. In the distance the lake is surrounded by trees. Yesterday walking in the western fells we saw the hound dogs racing across the fells. Very poignant - my dad used to race his dogs 60 yrs ago and met mum at one of the get togethers after the races at Lamplugh. His ashes are here on the fells. www.houndtrailingassociation.com #cumberland #fells

The rounded hill is covered in trees which are in various autumnal colours of copper, orange, yellow and green. The steel grey lake is still with the grey clouds and small patch of blue sky reflected in it. In the centre the deck of a wooden jetty has been submerged in the lake due to the recent heavy rain. Only the upper part of the wooden posts is visible. The sky is full of light grey clouds and a small patch of blue.
