Fencing Haleakalā Maui’s Haleakalā Volcano, over 30 miles of it, had to be fenced immediately to protect native species and ecosystems.

It was audacious. It was called impossible. It had to be done. It was the cusp of the 1980s and somebody had to fence the entire top of Maui’s Haleakalā Volcano, over 30 miles of it, immediately.
