Finished #FilmClub last night. It didn't grab Mrs Dale at any point, but I quite liked the build up. It wobbled when it did the lazy romcom thing of making one of its eligible suitors suddenly evil in case you thought the lead had picked the wrong one, then veered off the rails at the end.

🪰 Review of The Mist for Shadow Hearth Film Club

I don't like the ending and it ruins it for me. Is a bit too "gotcha" for my liking, muddles the overall themes which are set up so well inside the shop.

Really fumbles the landing. Maxine just isn’t as compelling of a character as the others around her. Ending is a total mess. I wish more of this film was set at night.

🪓 Review for Pearl for DBD Film Club

I liked this more on rewatch. Prefer the vibe of X but I like how unique this film is, the technicolour aesthetic and its approach to a serial killer origin story.
