Many of you may wonder why #adoptees are so angry at the >6 month rule that excludes them from the #financialredress of the #motherandbabyhome scheme.
This is the medical report that prospective adoptive parents had to get from their GP after 1970.

there was public outrage at the 6 month rule that excluded an estimated 24,000 people from #FimancialRedress.
That estimate is low,
there are so many more that were not even included in the parameters of the Scheme.
I don’t qualify for #FinancialRedress as I was not in #Bessboro for 6 months

anyone born in a #MotherandBabyHome who spent less than 6 months there.
I was however entitled to apply for my #birthinfo & #tracing, these were classed as #redress for those who didn’t qualify for #financialredress
I applied for my #birthinfo the day after it became available.
