They refuse to honour the missing babies who were in the care of the State who are buried in the grounds.
They deserve to at least be remembered, their brief lives honoured!

I was born in #Bessboro in the early 70’s.
A baby with dark hair & brown eyes had been ordered by a couple.
I fit the bill.
At 7 weeks old I was placed with the couple.
My adoptive mother was a cold, unloving woman, I was bought to complete the ‘family’.
acknowledged. Where’s the atonement? The #Bessboro mother&baby ‘home’ support group has campaigned for many years to preserve the remaining grounds firstly to investigate areas of concern & to honour the loss of so many babies (the majority dying before they were a year old) 2/9

This is not the view of the 740 members of the #Bessboro M&B ‘home’ Support Group. We have campaigned to stop any further developments on the remaining ground in honour of all those that died. This place being the last place my mother saw her baby alive. #Justice
Developers are trying again to put a foothold in developing on the grounds of #Bessboro. If one gets through the others will follow. ‘The Farm’ development will destroy our history. In this area witnesses saw burials take place. So much has already been lost

This is such important work at Tuam in recovering human remains. It will give us an understanding as to what happened to hundreds of children who died at St Mary’s mother & baby ‘home’.

It’s way beyond time to look into the lives, deaths & burials of babies born in #Bessborough that died. We know that some are buried in unmarked graves outside of #Bessboro but for 859 there are no burial records at all. 761 died on the premises.

I had previously told this person to not add my name to any Group correspondence in relation to advocacy.
I received no personal message from this person since this time last year.
I had huge misgivings about their lack of commitment to the advocacy of #Bessboro

I’ve mulled over whether to clarify a situation for almost a month now.
An advocate for #Bessboro intentionally ‘outed’ my identity on a private FB group, they vindictively mentioned a Campaign that my twitter profile was attached to.
It’s sometime good to remind ourselves and others of this.

I have a vision, a park land planted with mixed trees to complement the existing border of trees on the periphery of the grounds surrounding the former Mother & Baby ‘home’ at #Bessboro. A tree for each mother & child that died. 1/8
Decision 2 years overdue for the 2 planning applications on the grounds of #Bessboro has been refused. Not to do with the historical nature of the property but because of the scale & mix of the development. WE ARE DELIGHTED. #SaveBessboro

Don’t you think this field looks suspicious ?? A 10 year old in 1947 came across an open grave of 3 to 4 babies in this area at #Bessboro & was chased off. In his 80’s he contacted #CatherineCorless to pass this info on. I met him & he described what happened. The TRUTH matters. #MotherAndBabyHomes
My brother& other children born in Bessboro had a right to life, a right to family life by & when they died they had a right to be buried with dignity with the involvement of their mothers. We need justice for them, we need to find out what happened. INVESTIGATE #Bessboro
According to Institutional Burials Act 2022, Section 8, which refers to ‘Manifestly Inappropriate Burials’ all of the highlighted subsections apply to #Bessboro

She had suffered a cruel life & continued the cycle by facilitating her fathers #sexualabuse of me. He abused me once a week, for 4 years until I miscarried at the age of 12.

In 2017 I discovered I was born there, I was handed over to my adoptive parents at 7 weeks old. Despite having a loving father my childhood was marred by a detached & controlling mother

The work to begin the process of retrieving the remains of 796 children that were placed in a disused sewage system in the #MotherAndBabyHome in #Tuam is very welcomed although it should have been done years ago.
However, #BESSBORO has 859 missing children. Where is their Investigation? 1/3
