Museum caption - “It shows a scene from the myth of Pelops and Hippodamia on the walls of the urn. The two protagonists are depicted during the chariot race that Oenomaus, father of Hippodamia, had wanted as a test to grant his daughter in marriage. Oenomaus is shown being run over by horses and killed following the sabotage of his chariot by Pelops.”
