@mysociety.org The "start with a picture" option on #FixMyStreet is a great addition - but why not read the image's coordinates from EXIF, and load a map accordingly, giving the option to adjust?

I thought, when I submitted this #FixMyStreet report, whoever turned uo would take a walk around the corner and see there were more trees down, but no. Not being on the report, nothing was done about them... Until I went out with my saw and secateurs.

So CEC thinks it can do a better platform than #fixmystreet for less than £50k-ish/year?
Can't do it in house, and I'm not aware of another feature rich alternative.

Reported a mis-pointed signal to @transportforlondon.bsky.social w #FixMyStreet, wondering if they'd do anything about it. Well, they did: 30min later, they confirmed the issue, saying it was an emergency & wld be fixed w/in 24h! Impressed. www.fixmystreet.com/report/7200935 @mysociety.org

this IS a problem and Essex County Council (an authority which has decided not to accept defect reports from #FixMyStreet any longer) needs to fix this before an incident occurs here - drivers might swerve, cyclists might swerve or fall off etc etc etc PLEASE FIX THIS

We haven’t even got full UK mobile signal coverage yet. And cyclists don’t need AI to know where potholes are and record them on #FixMyStreet. It’s getting sufficient resources from central to local government to fix them that’s the problem. Worrying if AI can do this when the electorate can’t!

A fallen tree, blocking a narrow section of footpath, next to a set of traffic light, which are showing a red light.
Having just reported this fallen tree, on the #FixMyStreet app, I wonder how long it will take BCC to get it removed...
I understand the council may be under pressure with tree requests, atm, but it is telling how fast they respond to trees blocking roads, compared to those blocking footpaths.
