Hey! Check out a couple of #TTRPG things I created! I hope you like them!

A roleplaying game that encourages player creation and learning. I really LOVE this idea and I hope you do to!

As I've got a snow day today I'm working on my dungeon and decided to rework some things:
1. Rename encounters/sites to be more evocative. This would help the GM to imagine the scene better, thus hopefully making for a more immersive play experience.

Check out Silkroots, Goblin Hamlet on either itch or DriveThru!
A goblin community prepares to safely herd their blood nymphs before they can become adult giant cicada mounts.

Kind of an exciting moment... printing my first draft of a half-page booklet using Affinity for the first time. I like to see it in hand, allowing me to see font size, layout, etc. to see closer to how it might look finished and what I need to change.

Alright... got Affinity to semi-professionally publish my TTRPG stuff. So glad I have some time off work to figure this out. Anybody have any advice or can point me to some solid tutorials?

I've a new "Behind the Trees" post up on my Patreon about how to use a deck of cards in Adirondark. I'm excited about how they can be incorporated and used a few ways by both players and GMs during gameplay. Check it out!

Scott offers wonderful advice here!
And timely for me too as I'm putting the final touches on my chapter for how to design Dangers and Encounters in Adirondark's Superintendents' Guidebook. And in a wilderness survival horror game... it may be wise to avoid combat.

As it started snowing at my home today, and sticking... it got me thinking about The Gray, the Power of stone, weather, and particularly the cold. Here is a throwback to my Omens of the Gray table found on my Patreon.

Snowing outside changes things a bit...
Outside in my backyard smoking a pipe, thinking, writing, creating... inspired to think about The Gray.
The Power of wind, weather, stone, and cold — the inanimate parts of nature.
What scares you about The Gray?

As I get close to publishing a beta of a PHB for my wilderness horror game, "The Adirondark Explorer's Guidebook" I am debating how to organize the order of the various chapters. I am curious how other TTRPG players believe a PHB should be organized.

This can inspire some awful imagery for Adirondark... when The Dark corrupts, it *absolutely* corrupts.

What is the strange thing your Explorer notices that lets them know all is not right in the Great Northern Forest?

Considering self-publishing TTRPG adventures as 12 or 16 page zines.

October so here's the Omen of the Green table for Adirondark, a turn-of-the-20th-century wilderness horror survival game in development.
People enter the wilderness for mundane reasons. But then something catches their eye, something... not quite right.

So in my quest for finding an old-school arch-devil I am also considering creating my own.
I know much of the originals from D&D are from famous literary works like the Book of Enoch.
Start there or whole cloth?

How many TTRPG creators, like me, start by writing ideas on paper, then type things on the computer, and then move things into a publishing app - and then just try and write/edit/fiddle in *this* stage without every really finishing in the previous stages?

I absolutely LOVE that moment, when I'm paging through a book (in this case the 2024 Monster Manual) and I'm struck with inspiration.
A one-shot.
A novel way to start a campaign.
A way to encourage players to use imaginative ways to succeed.

As I work on Adirondark, I'm wrestling with a few things:
1.) Playtesting: finding playtesters and coming up with the right questions/surveys/etc. to get the feedback I need. And even then, how do I get the feedback I don't even know I need?

Found this on the interwebs and I'm hoping it inspires you as much as it does me. Perhaps these phrases and terms will show up in my turn of the 20th century wilderness horror game... got the morbs?
