We are ready to start our #GLÂN surveys for 2026! 🥳

This year, we will survey 5,460 sites across #Wales, recording #litter & other local environmental quality (LEQ) issues such as detritus, graffiti & #flytipping.

We count over 80 litter items/groups, as well as bins, blocked drains & more. 😮

#FlyTipping is getting so bad now, that the government has said it's looking to give 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 (EA) officials police-style powers to help them crack down on it!

It's probably just greed & criminality. Apparently, a transit load of waste should cost £250-400 to dispose of properly, but the onus is actually on homeowners to check that the disposal licence is valid, & have a verified Waste Transfer Note. Farmers having to pay for #flytipping does seem unfair.

The great British countryside...being dumped on. #flytipping 😡😑🤷‍♂️ These examples seen on recent rides. One of them was on The Ridgeway long distance path, in West Berkshire downs AONB... reported. The other, in field entrance, had been noted. So annoying.
