At SAFE, we believe that inclusion starts with food. Through our #Food4Inclusion project, we train young children to identify health risks in diets and we encourage them to adopt healthier habits.
@unicef.org & @who.int launched the Child & Adolescent Health Strategy 2026–2030 to tackle rising infectious diseases, mental health challenges & childhood obesity.🧒
At SAFE, we empower kids through #Food4Inclusion to spot unhealthy food marketing and decode food labels. 🎯
🎓 Tomorrow is the #InternationalDayOfEducation! At SAFE, we stand for equal access to nutrition education. We empower children, especially in vulnerable areas, to read food labels, spot tricks and choose better. Because knowledge is power.

SAFE is a part of the #Food4Inclusion project, working to make healthy diets accessible through nutrition trainings in schools for children, food redistribution initiatives, or a network of restaurants providing healthy, accessible meals for people in need. 👨👨👦👦
#Inclusion starts with food!
💻 Online shoppers are 60% more likely to face issues than offline buyers—26% had problems, and 45% encountered scams.
Vulnerable consumers are hit hardest.
At SAFE, we work to protect consumers offline and online.
#Food4Inclusion
🌍 Only 43% of EU consumers considered the environment in recent purchases—a 13pt drop since 2023. Inflation, label mistrust & shifting politics are to blame.
We must not abandon sustainability. Shorter supply chains & green incentives are key.
#Food4Inclusion #Sustainability
74% of EU consumers say products are shrinking but prices aren’t—known as shrinkflation. ⬇️
52% also report worse quality for the same price—skimpflation.⛔
This erodes purchasing power and health. Regulation is needed.

SAFE just wrapped up 3 fantastic days in Paris! 🇫🇷
We trained 161 pupils (7–11) on:
🍭 Sugar & food colourants
📦 Food labels & packaging
💡 They learned to spot hidden sugars, debunk misleading packaging & understand the health effects of excessive sugar!
#Food4Inclusion
Sugary drinks cause our gut to absorb sugar over essential nutrients like proteins, fats, and carbs, leading to harmful metabolic changes. 🍭
Our #Food4Inclusion programme educates children in schools about sugar consumption and helps them make healthier choices. 🍎
@ec.europa.eu
On 15 April, the SAFE team trained children aged 9-11 at École du Coeur d'Ixelles in Brussels, on food packaging and labelling as part of #Food4Inclusion. 🍎
They learnt to decode labels, identify healthy and unhealthy ingredients, and spot misleading packaging. 🕵️♂️
Unhealthy diets have negative consequences for children that extend throughout their lifetimes. SAFE directly promotes healthy diets, through food literacy trainings for children in schools, the last one with 5th-graders at CEIP Ciudad Jardin in Cartagena, Spain, as a part of #Food4Inclusion. 👩👧🍽️
What happens when fresh food becomes unaffordable?
For many European families, healthy eating is no longer a choice—it’s a financial challenge.
The impact? A growing reliance on ultra-processed, high-fat, high-sugar foods, leading to serious public health risks.
#Food4Inclusion
A study found that consuming sugary drinks such as soda and fruit juice at a young age is more harmful in the long run than eating sugary foods. 🧃
SAFE's #Food4Inclusion programme aims to enhance children's health literacy. 📚
