Fittingly, I launched my #SeaKayak, #Meriwether in the Lewis & Clark River just a short distance from #FortClatsop, where the #DiscoveryExpedition escaped the worst of the winter weather on the #ColumbiaRiver. Meriwether will require a few minor adjustments, but I was generally quite pleased.
#McGowanChurch was built 99 years after #Lewis&Clark departed #StationCamp at #MiddleVillage for #FortClatsop. The #ChinookTribe was accommodating but savvy negotiators. Eventually, McGowan was “settled” by white men, and thriving industry was established, now gone
