How many EEPle can fit into one pothole? That’s what we tried to find out at Fossil Falls! After accidentally going off trail, we found the site of a gorge carved through volcanic rocks by the Owens River, all with a grand backdrop of the Sierra Nevada behind us.

There is a place along US 395 called Fossil Falls. It's in the desert, but once upon a time (10-20,000 years ago) a river flowed through and eroded a narrow lane of basalt. It's not an easy place to photograph. #photography #fossilfalls
