📸 Close Encounter with a Fox | Nature at Its Rawest As I arrived at the trailhead ready for a peaceful hike, I was instantly greeted by a curious fox just a few feet away — no more than 8 feet from where I stood. He held a freshly caught rat in his mouth, completely unfazed by my presence. With my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens already mounted, I didn’t hesitate. I slowly raised the camera and captured a powerful close-up shot of his head, eyes locked, prey in mouth — a perfect, raw moment of nature’s untamed side. There’s something striking about this image: the expression, the detail, and the wild instinct frozen in time. It’s not every day that wildlife gets this close, and even rarer to capture it so clearly.
