📸 Close Encounter with a Fox | Nature at Its Rawest
As I arrived at the trailhead ready for a peaceful hike, I was instantly greeted by a curious fox just a few feet away — no more than 8 feet from where I stood. He held a freshly caught rat in his mouth, completely unfazed by my presence. With my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens already mounted, I didn’t hesitate. I slowly raised the camera and captured a powerful close-up shot of his head, eyes locked, prey in mouth — a perfect, raw moment of nature’s untamed side.
There’s something striking about this image: the expression, the detail, and the wild instinct frozen in time. It’s not every day that wildlife gets this close, and even rarer to capture it so clearly. This moment reminded me why I love exploring the outdoors — you never know what nature has in store until you step into it.
