As it happens, Freeview is next to useless in these parts but a similar issue hangs over Freesat which is our lifeline. I wouldn't want to see either consigned to history.

Been through a merry dance with #Freesat & the fact that their Β£200+ recorder isn't expected to work past the warranty period.
Looking online they seem to regularly fail. Avoid at all costs.
Here's some unsolicited advice. Don't buy a Freesat box. 18 months in and ours has completely stopped working. Warranty is 12 months. Obviously.

A help article on the Freesat website explaining that Freesat ID functionality has been removed and that users can no longer remotely record using the app in either Android or iOS. The app effectively can only be used for the TV guide and Showcase functions going forward.
