Cover of book On Desperate Ground: The Marines at the Reservoir, the Korean War's Greatest Battle by Hampton Sides. A good book for novice military history readers. Based on many good histories and first hand accounts without getting too textbook-ish.

I've loaned many books trying to introduce people to the Chosin Reservoir campaign in Korea. This one cites most of those books but is more accessible for novice military history readers. Accurate and readable. Very good!
