If we want to reduce #CO2 one thing we can do is ban uplighting in buildings. There is never a reason for a building to use #Uplighting-it’s just wasted light. Rather if you must highlight a building mount from the top of the building and use #DownLighting that’s #FullyShielded

This is the light fixture that has the #fullyshielded LEDs in the night and day:

Two different color temperatures side by side. Unshileded #HPS lights from the 70’s probably 2200K verses #fullyshielded LED lights about 5000K new within the last couple of years.

These are #fullyshielded and pointed down -therefore they ARE #darkskyfriendly. You can see the bulb a bit but they are mounted at about 8 feet high so lightspill is minimal
