Same with my mother at 82. I stayed, so she got to the toilet and had water to drink, but it was like a war zone nursing. Wrote to her MP who deflected into the Welsh government and no response from the UK gov.
This is no way to treat our elderly.

Living abroad I relied on private insurance.
Developed enlarged prostate with a PSA of 7+, Urologist requested an urgent MRI, fearing cancer.
Policy small print stated they wouldn't pay for a scan until I presented elevated PSA for 6 months.
I sourced and paid for it myself.

I doubt my doctor can get those. #FundTheNHS I did have a test with a machine that had tubes up my nose and stuff but I ripped it off in my sleep. Results from that were borderline.
