‘Hanging out with this little fella until the real one comes back from tour.’ Had been the caption on Mushitarô’s post on every single social media, accompanied by a picture of the latest limited edition Nikolai plushie. And Sigma had seethed in jealousy upon seeing it, to a point where it was ridiculous; after all, Mushitarô wasn’t at fault as far as they knew. That, though, didn’t change the fact he owned one of those plushies and Sigma didn’t. ‘Be careful, or I might steal it from you :D’ Had been his reply, and despite not being completely serious, they would be lying if he said the thought wasn’t tempting-- because damn, it was.

Rumors said that, despite getting along fairly well in other regards, Sigma and Fyodor had the most intense rivalry when it came to getting their hands on any exclusive Nikolai merch, to the point of both camaraderie and manners getting forgotten.
Those rumors, by the way, were completely true; the only reason they were still just rumors was probably due to how there was no conclusive evidence.
After all, both knew how to hide their metaphorical footsteps very well.
Anyway, that day was one of The Days: a new Nikolai plushie had its release scheduled, ready to be sold out in a matter of hours after opening time. And, since trying to pre-order it had ended up in catastrophic failure, Sigma would have to run to snatch one from a store’s shelf. Good thing, the classic way had yet to stop yielding results, so they were confident. Bad thing, Fyodor was in the same predicament as him, which meant the fiercest competitor he ever had was still in the game.

Thus, both were currently stationed right at the same place’s door, (im)patiently waiting for the doors to open so they could rush and claim such a precious piece for their respective collections-- hopefully surpassing the other as well as other fellow early bird sort of fans. Sadly, though, that ended up not being the case; not even the strongest power of will was enough against a crowd. Having been outrunned, still, stopped neither of them. So, after the initial confusion and struggle to keep balance instead of being thrown to the floor and stepped on, Sigma started running and so did Fyodor. And both were pretty much on the way to throw themselves against the last Nikolai plushie… … when no one other than the real Nikolai appeared in front of them, closer to their objective than they themselves were, and therefore being able to take said last plushie himself instead. At least, Sigma thought as he left with the most smug expression ever (due to both having achieved that, getting to see the look on their faces as he left, and the fact none could stop him), Fyodor was still losing alongside him and Nikolai hadn’t showed any favoritism between the two of them-- not a surprise, either, since it was a well-known fact he would always choose having some laughs. Luckily, Sigma loved him like that, even if those things exasperated them to no end.
