Every child & youth counts—we all need to act for safe schools.
Ahead of 2025 #GPDRR, Brazil, Kenya, Switzerland, @undrr.bsky.social and others came together to spotlight the need to strengthen resilience of education systems—esp. in fragile & crisis-affected contexts, so no child is left behind.
Marie Brüning of #Switzerland, co-chair of the #GPDRR, highlights the Chair's summary which aims to capture the platform's main message. While it is not a negotiated declaration, it aims to reflect discussions, ideas & experience shared. Active participation will be crucial.
From empowering cities and communities, delivering on knowledge and empowerment to mobilizing funding, Lauren Sorkin highlights the ways the Resilient Cities Network will be contributing to the #GPDRR, as it is an opportunity to gather knowledge, exchange them & use this to act.
Sanjaya Bhatia of the Global Secretariat of Making Cities Resilient 2030 highlighted 10 clear reasons why local and regional governments should participate at the upcoming #GPDRR, including promoting #ClimateAction and #sustainability.
Presenting details of the upcoming session, Elina Palm of @undrr.bsky.social highlights that 2 years after Member States came together the midterm review of the Sendai Framework, the #GPDRR is a way to assess and discuss progress on the implementation of the Framework.
