Here's a pro-tip for #GameWriters throwing together a bunch of item descriptions (or similar.)
The word "cryptic" directly implies that there is a message there to be found, if only you could read it. It doesn't mean "Ooooh mysterious!" Or rather it could but only because the viewer can't parse it.

For the #Gamewriters. Word count in games are comparable to epic novels. Dark Souls = 130K words | Fable II = 370K worlds | Zelda Skyward Sword = 160K words. Compare to: LOTR Trilogy = 455K words | Dune 186K words. #videogames
