Gardena council recognizes SMART as exclusive representative for GTrans bus operators The Gardena City Council adopted Resolution No. 6713 to establish a separate bus-operator bargaining unit and certify the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART) as the exclusive representative. The decision followed a state mediation card check showing majority support and passed 5-0.

The Gardena City Council just took a major step by establishing a dedicated bargaining unit for GTrans bus operators, empowering them with their own union representation!
