Gareth probably smells like leather & polish since he spends most of his free time treating his weapons & armor.

Gareth isn’t opposed to having a place to send mages as a general means of safety but does not condone the idea of forcing them there or keeping them from leaving. He is weary of magic and thinks it needs parameters, but doesn’t believe that anyone should be disciplined for having it.
