Gartenrotschwanz. Männlich. Der Vogel ist sehr bunt. Aus Wikipedia: Gesichtsfeld und Kehle sowie die Partie direkt über dem Schnabel sind schwarz, die Stirn sowie ein auslaufender, bis zu den Ohrdecken reichender Überaugenstreif hingegen reinweiß. Oberkopf, Nacken und Rücken sind grau. Die Brustpartie ist lebhaft rostrot gefärbt, zum weißlichen Unterbauch hin läuft sie durch breiter werdende helle Federsäume aus. Flanken und Unterschwanzdecken sind sehr viel fahler rostorange. Die Flügel sind meist bräunlich, die Decken der Flügelunterseite rostrot.

Besuch. Noch sind sie nicht weggeflogen.
Das Futter ist ausreichend vorhanden. Und Wasser und Sand auch.

Red Redstart stands on a concrete slab in front of the blurred deep green garden jungle. This bird is also missing its tail feathers, which it presents casually.

We don't have to understand every fashion trend. In our garden, it started with Howie House-Sparrow wanting to look more spherical in order to appear as a cute baby bird. And barely a day later, Red Redstart was sporting the new look.

A male common redstart on the branch of a standing, partly mossy, deadwood branch of an old elder bush. The bird is in the background, facing the photographer and is calling, which can be recognized by the slightly open beak. It is spreading its brick-red tail feathers. All signs that the bird is excited. In the background you can see blurred foliage in various shades of green shimmering in the sunlight. You can clearly see the bird's brick-red belly as well as the slate-grey-black breast and the black head with the whitish forehead stripe extending over the beak to the eyes.

Something was bothering Mr. Redstart. Maybe I was getting too close to the nest? That's the deal: I take a little souvenir picture and get off the terrace. The redstart chirps, duty calls ... - I see: back to the desk!
