Once part of Ffaldau Colliery, the lake is now a haven for #wildlife - including Kingfishers, now seen here almost daily this winter.

Found a few nests of Clarke's Mining Bee (Andrena clarkella) on a forestry track in my street this week, and this morning I was able to catch them emerging from their burrows. Though I have many favourite solitary bees, this is certainly one of them.
