A #gazetteer was a geographical dictionary or directory used in conjunction with a map or atlas. It typically contained information concerning the geographical makeup, social statistics and physical features of a country, region, or continent.

Gazetteer は日本版D&D関連の記述では、”ガゼッタ”と書かれているが、30年以上前、オレらは”ガゼッティア”と読んでいた。辞書を見るとどうやら本当は”ギャゼッティア”と読むらしい。意味は”地名索引”、地図帳の巻末にある地名の索引を指すようだ。地名辞典とも訳される。
昔は英語の読み方も怪しいものが多かったね(^_^;)
”Squad Leader”も”スコードリーダー”だったし…(^_^;)

CD&Dのワールド・サプリメント。D&Dには固有の世界はないみたいに言うことが多いが、元々はゆるやかに『World of Greyhawk』ってのがあった。それは日本で展開されることは無かったけどね…。
日本で展開されたワールドは”ミスタラ”。そのサプリメントのひとつ目がコレだ。
そのミスタラも人気がなかったので次の二作目で終わっちゃった(^_^;)
英語版は五作あったと記憶、曖昧だけどね…。
