We've been hiking up a fairly steep hill set back from the end of a fjord and we're now looking back along the twisting length of the still water a few hundred metres away. Sloping, rocky land filled with trees and bushes and grass where it's not too sheer to support it rises from either side of the water, overlapping more distant ridges until mountainous land frames the end of the view. At the near end of the fjord there's a flatter area of land, grassy and dotted with the buildings of a village, including what appear to be hotels. It's a popular place for tourists with the views and hiking opportunities. It's a bright day with patchy clouds overhead and the shadows form soft, dark shapes over the beautiful green landscape. In the fjord itself we can see two, large, white cruise ships, small from this distance. It feels warm and quiet and there's a freshness to the air here.
