Can't figure out why, but we did it once for fun and painted ourselves into a corner because they're our most downloaded episodes since starting the tradition. Fair warning, we usually do about a 1-.75 time conversion. 8 hours of #GenConf is usually 6 hours of podcast lol.

Area 70s were created during Pres. Hinckley's tenure as church president so they have only featured in the last 3 solemn assemblies to sustain organization of Presidents Monson, Nelson, and Oaks.

There was a change in yesterday's Solemn Assembly during #genconf from the most recent previous versions of it: Area 70s stood with the General Authority 70s and Presiding Bishopric.

Previously, in 2018 and 2008, Area 70s stood with ordained patriarchs, high priests, and elders.

#Causse talks about Beauty and the Beast. A man trapped in a body that doesn't reflect how he feels inside finds love in somebody who sees his true identity. And then the spell is broken and Beast can live authentically, looking outside like he feels inside. Hmmm. Useful story. That's all. #GenConf

#Causse telling us the church is a "beautiful mosaic of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences" rings kind of hollow after so many talks about assimilation and abandoning cultural practices that conflict with the gospel from so many previous talks.

#GeraldCausse made an analogy that God is like stars, if we just pay attention we'll realize he isn't that far away. Dude, I'm a lazy learner who doesn't want to walk to the end of my driveway to get the mail, do you know how far away stars are?! This session's analogies are so tortured. #GenConf

Does anyone else remember in the 1990s/2000sb when we were all obsessed with "free agency"? I very much prefer Bednar's framing.

Both Evanson of Q70 and Soares of Q12 have just given some basic sacrament meeting talks. No notes, nothing terribly interesting, just a pointless update on a pointless exercise from yours truly.
