Episode 22 of Getter Robo introduces a daughter Princess Kona of Emperor Gore that has been living with Michiru as her sister named Miyuki that went missing for five years until now.

And none of this came up before.

A side-by-side comparison picture between a screenshot from the 1974 Getter Robo anime by Toei and a redraw emulating that 70’s cel anime style but done to better match the original manga. It shows Ryoma Nagare sweating profusely.

The same type of picture, this time with Hayato Jin. The right side has more sharper features and pronounced eyelashes alongside a different eye shape.

Musashi Tomoe, colours are a lot more brighter and saturated. His nose is smaller in the redraw, his face is more curved and less anatomically defined to match the manga’s look. The goggles on his helmet are altered.

Michiru’s face is altered completely, eyes are much larger and her hair is more simplified and all black compared to the Toei version which had her be a brunette.

Toei Getter if it was manga accurate.

Before I mainly drew the robot dinosaurs from the show as I was worried I’d never get it right drawing the actual #getterrobo, but after doing an initial sketch of getter 1 this year I’m more confident, i was worried about the mechanics of the combination though so it’s two rather than three XP
