A rainy night, a shared meal, and a bit of mischief. At a community meal in St Albans, Ashton and volunteer Judy connected through laughter and banter. A small, ordinary moment, and the start of a new friendship.

Language matters. I know you know that, or you wouldn’t be reading this.

I stumbled upon a new one for me last week, ‘additional support needs’.

Here are my thoughts:

Milton Keynes was full of laughter at our recent comedy night 🎭
People we support, staff and the local community came together for a brilliant evening, raising £450 for future Lifelong Learning events. More comedy coming soon!

The Giving Tree project is helping us spread a bit of Christmas brightness across three communities. Grateful to all concerned. Small acts, shared widely, make a real difference.

At the Grove we've been volunteering: first with Luton Foodbank at Asda, and soon with the Salvation Army’s Christmas Toy Appeal. Generosity and community energy, this is what Everyone Everywhere is all about.

When staff listened and prepared, Luke felt safe and the whole hospital appointment flowed. Sharing the success helped spread good practice, one story at a time.

As Safeguarding Week 2025 draws to a close, we reflect on the crucial part played by community connections in preventing abuse. MacIntyre's Everyone Everywhere initiative shows this approach in action.

Lewis always loved tech but struggled to find the right fit after college.

Now he’s thriving at Weee Charity, recycling old electronics, mentoring students, and learning sign language alongside his team.

Spent a day at Watford FC’s Taylor Trek with Billy, the ultimate Hornets fan, and Afo. We cheered people over the finish line, met Luther Blissett, and felt the love for Graham Taylor’s legacy. A feel-good day at the Vic. 💛⚽

So this week, I come back again to my ‘What would it take?’ question.

A great suggestion from Debbie on the #GloriouslyOrdinaryLives course - use the Catchphrase rule of 'say what you see'. If I need two people to help me get out of bed say that, rather than daft words like 'complex' which mean nothing (apart from you're a bit difficult)
