When I was a less experienced coach I would have nudged them toward another name.

But now I realize rebelling against the coach is a team empowerment opportunity.

We’ll have cheese tastings after practice. Name our defensive sets after cheeses. And I bought a mascot 🧀🏀⬇️

The 6th grade girls basketball team I coach just voted on the name “The Cheesinators.”

Me with the obvious question: “What exactly is a cheesinator?”

Answer: “A cheesinator is someone who eats cheese and celebrates the eating of cheese.”
