![To reflect the excitement and sometimes glitz of time spent in London, I created this necklace and coordinating anklet.
For the necklace I used faceted opal discs, black onyx beads, silver electroplated heishi lava rock discs, and Abalone shell beads.
The symmetrical necklace from the small silver lobster-claw fastener descends around the neck in the following pattern: single onyx, silver lava spacer, twelve onyx, single opal, five onyx, single opal, five onyx, four opal, seven onyx to the center focal.
Center-front focal is comprised of four heart-shaped abalone shell beads - two sets of two with a single silver lava spacer - creating the appearance of either two iridescent butterflies or bow-ties. They are separated by one onyx.

Goldstone comes in many colors, all of which are Man-Made! This "stone" is made using glass and any or all of these elements added in: Copper, Cobalt, Manganese, and Chromium Oxides.
Super sparkly, but unfortunately it is not a natural stone.

The second day of the the #DSN50 #NasaSocial celebration in 2014 was at the #Goldstone #DeepSpaceNetwork, one of three locations with massive antennas used to communicate with the spacecraft.
