PLEASE SHARE!! #fordnation Millcroft in Burlington, Ontario has been our home for the past 15 years. We built our life here. Had kids here. We chose this home because of the beautiful green space and fresh air. It was truly an oasis —we lived in the backyard during the summer. Sadly that came to a halt today as ARGO development cut down over 400 MATURE trees in the span of HOURS. We've been fighting the fight for over 5 years to save our greenspace in Millcroft. This space also prevents flooding, for which Burlington has become known for. The City of Burlington was against this development along with Conservation and wildlife groups. Except Doug Ford. Why? Because
he's BFF's with Gord Buck, founder of ARGO. Kickbacks are everything. Despite opposition from the city and his own representatives, these trees are fallen. 40+ year mature trees providing homes to wildlife, birds, oxygen, safety and privacy. All gone in seconds for GREED. To build multimillion dollar UNAFFORDABLE homes. The GREED of a few men who will make millions. A thriving community known for Green space. All gone. In the flash of a second. I will never forget this day. Please share and if anyone has any media contacts, please let me know. This story needs to be shared and Doug Ford should be accountable. Despite lobbying for years, he has not responded to emails or met with us. Despite over 16,000 signatures on a petition. He has killed this
community and a place we called home. Instead we are living in a warzone. Construction/pollution/ debris are also a major health hazard, especially for those with respiratory illnesses. Such a sad and shameful day. RIP beautiful trees. Sorry to the wildlife and birds that are now going crazy as their homes are lost. I am crying as i write this. My heart and home will never be the same....SAVE THIS EARTH AND CONSERVE WILDLIFE. Doug Ford and ARGO. It's easy to pay off people to get what you want but Karma's a bitch.
