Birthed on a gun deck as cannons sang,
Swaddled in a powder sack.
Inside the ironclad, his wails rang,
Graced with the name Lazy Jack.

Duncan pulled a jar of acid from his saddle bag and poured the chemicals into Ringo's other eye, destroying it
instantly. Bill took Norman's knife and cut out Ringo's tongue. Lucky took the knife from Bill, pulled down Ringo's pants and cut Ringo's dick off. David and Nolan each took turns cutting off Ringo's hands. Mary stuck a cigar in her mouth, sparked a match to sticks of dynamite, used the dynamite to light her cigar, and threw the dynamite onto Ringo's body as he moaned in pain. Nolan's gang rode far away from Ringo as the dynamite exploded. Jodi started to weep as the outlaws rode further away from her. She stood up, and began to stagger away from her home in a daze, as blood poured from her stab wounds. With her husband and daughter dead, Jodi no longer had any desire to continue living. She continued walking until she reached a cliff, where she continued to walk until she reached the edge, turned around, closed her eyes and allowed herself to fall to the rocks below, which finally killed her.
Pallbearers dressed entirely in black carried the coffins of Jodi, Ringo and Zora throughout the town of Paris, Texas, as onlookers held their hats in their hands out of respect for the dead. The pallbearers continued to carry the coffins and a large crucifix throughout the town until they reached the mortuary.

Nolan pointed his pistol at Zora's head and said, "If you don't mind, I would prefer if your daughter stayed in sight, because I don't want to have to put a bullet in her fucking skull. Let's go into the dining room."
The gang, Ringo, Zora, Jodi and Nolan took seats at the square, long dining room table, with Nolan at the edge of the table in the center. He pointed his gun at Jodi, while looking straight at Ringo, and said, to her, "Sweetheart, why don't you serve us all a nice cup of coffee."
Jodi gritted her teeth, got up and walked into the kitchen, desperate to keep her husband and daughter alive. Everyone sat in silence as Jodi excused herself, and returned carrying a tray containing the coffee pot and cups. She shoved the cups into the direction of the criminals with great disdain and began to pour coffee for everyone at the table before sitting back down, as everyone continued to not say a word. Nolan broke the silence, addressing his gang, "Since our exquisitely beautiful young host is going to serve us lunch, I am interested in hearing what each of you want to eat."
Mary Hamilton hacked and spit out chewing tobacco onto the floor and replied, "I ain't hungry."
"Neither am I," added Lucky.
"Well then," Nolan said as he checked his pocket watch, "If none of y'all eatin', we'll skip to the main course."

Nolan reached into his coat pocket, removed a bottle of whiskey and slammed it onto the table. "Ringo, I'd like to give this as a gift for the life you have taken from me, the lives you have taken from all of us."
Ringo said to Nolan, "I'm afraid that I don't drink, and neither does my wife." Nolan replied, "That's good, because this gift is not for you." He then addressed Zora and said, "Come here, baby girl and sit on uncle Nolan's lap."
Jodi screamed, "No!" and lunged at Nolan as Lucky grabbed her and held her back. Nolan pointed his pistol in the direction of Jodi's head and screamed, "Sit your black ass down!"
Nolan turned back to Zora and patted his lap. Zora sat down on Nolan's lap as he opened the bottle of whiskey while telling Jodi, "Zora here is going to drink this entire bottle of whiskey. Right in front of you and your husband. She'll get sleepy. She'll shut her eyes, and the whiskey will release her from life." Nolan said to Zora, "sweetheart, do you know what demise is?"
"Uh-uh, Zora said. Nolan then said to Jodi, "See, baby girl's too young to be effected by the departure from life." Nolan then said to Zora, "demise is when someone takes a nap that lasts throughout the eons. Demise usually happens to adults, but the unfortunate truth is that it frequently happens to children, too.

"Now why don't you drink this nice gift your grandpa Nolan brought you?"
Ringo said to Nolan, "Nolan, I have money. What do I have to pay you to take your thugs and leave my family alone?" Nolan scoffed, "Money. That's all you carpetbaggers think is important, as you take away our land, our way of life, our lives. No, Ringo, I'm not here to get paid. I'm here for revenge. You took the youth from the South, and I want to take the youth from the North."
Nolan put his gun barrel against Zora's head and said to Ringo, "Ringo, if your daughter does not swallow this entire bottle of whiskey in one sitting, I am going to put a bullet in her skull. I want my blood. One way or another. I guarantee the whiskey's the less painful way to end your daughter's miserable life."
Ringo backed down as Nolan lifted up his gun and Zora picked up the whiskey bottle and began to drink it. Jodi sobbed in anguish, unable to do anything about what was going on around her as Ringo said to Nolan, "Nolan, I am going to track you down and I'm going to kill you." Ringo looked around the table. "Every last one of you. I'm going to make you die slowly." Nolan replied, "I highly doubt that." Zora stopped swigging the whiskey and said, "ow, it burns."
Nolan replied, "That's OK, it's like that the first time you drink whiskey.

Zora looked at Nolan in disbelief, and he said, "Drink up. We spent a pretty penny to buy a whole bottle just for you." Zora resumed drinking and continued to drink down the contents of the bottle, taking periodic breaks to compose herself as she was slowly becoming drunk and continuing to lose consciousness, until she finally said, "ohhh, I don't feel so good," dropped the bottle and fell to the ground, dead. Jodi ran over in Zora's direction in an attempt to save her, and was grabbed and repeatedly stabbed with a Bowie knife by Lucky. Nolan interrupted the stabbing by saying, "Don't kill her yet! I want her alive to watch what to her turncoat husband!"
Jodi was dragged out of her house by Lucky and thrown onto the marble steps. Blood flowed from Jodi's body down each step of the stairs, coating the marble red. She lifted up her ichor-caked head. Gore flowed out of her mouth as she looked over to see Ringo being dragged by the blind old man by a rope that was hung around Ringo's neck, and tied to a tree, where Norman pulled a knife out of his pocket and cut off Ringo's eyelids as he screamed in pain, unable to prevent what was happening to him.
Mary stuck her fingers deep inside Ringo's right eye, forcibly pulling it from his socket. Blood spurted wildly from Ringo's socket as he screamed louder.

CHAPTER ONE
THE LONESOME DEATH OF JODI HAHNEMANN
The year was 1869. Jodi Hahnemann's soft brown skin glistened in the dusk as she was hanging up her laundry to dry. She was wearing a headwrap that covered a moderately sized Afro. The Texas sun blinded her, and when she put her hands over her eyes to shield herself from the unrelenting brightness, and she saw the white man dressed entirely in black holding a black umbrella, riding a Stygian steed towards her home who possessed a foreboding demeanor. He did not show any kind of emotion at all, spreading disquietude. Jodi's three year old daughter, Zora, was playing with a doll in front of her. Jodi urged her to come towards her for protection. Zora's white father, Ringo Hahnemann, stepped out of the house to see what was going on, and his long, dirty blonde hair flowed into the wind as he stepped onto the porch and recognized the man in black as Nolan Mallory. Ringo stepped toward Nolan's Tartarean bronco carefully, as he knew that the man in black was dangerous, and, like a rattlesnake, you would have to tread lightly.

Ringo stepped toward Nolan's Tartarean bronco carefully, as he knew that the man in black was dangerous, and, like a rattlesnake, you would have to tread lightly.

The man in black dismounted, hanging on to his umbrella. Almost his entire body was covered in clothing and his hands were covered in black bandages. He stepped over to the cattle fence to lean his body against it, continuing to hold his umbrella as he said, "You've been busy. The bounty's been fruitful to you as my crops withered. You got hitched."
Ringo nodded, and gestured to his cattle and said, "I also got out of the violence business."
Nolan reached into his coat pocket, pulled out a cigarillo, struck a match to his boot and replied between clenched teeth and puffs of smoke, "I could have had what you had. A beautiful wife, a little shitlet running around my home. I didn't come here to discuss the past. I just came here to grant you a friendly hello." Ringo scoffed, "Nothing friendly could ever come out of your mouth."
"Oh, come on, now, Ringo," Nolan replied. "Is that any way to treat your guest?" "Kindly get the fuck off my property." "Oh, Ringo, when did you turn into such a hothead?" Nolan said, before pulling his Colt on Ringo and cocking the hammer. "I'd like to stay for lunch. Me and my friends." Just then, five haggard white men and a white woman, all dressed in black, riding swarthy stallions, and Ringo recognized all of them. They got off their horses, pointed their guns at Ringo and cocked the hammers.

Nolan urged Ringo forward with his gun in Ringo's back. Jodi saw the armed gang coming towards her and her daughter with guns at her husband's back, and she clutched Zora closer as Nolan came to a stop inches away from Jodi and Ringo's front porch and addressed Jodi, saying as guns were now being held on not only Ringo, but Jodi and Zora as well, "good morning to you, ma'am. The name's Nolan Mallory. That there's David Menard. Next to him is Bill Carson. Next to him is Lucky Dickinson. That blind fucker's Mervyn "Vee" Duncan. The young man next to him is Norman Boyle, and the one-eyed blonde bitch with the rebel flag eyepatch is Mary Hamilton. Your husband rode with us during the war. Except for that little fucker Norman over there. His daddy rode with us. Your husband was gracious enough to let us stay for a lunch engagement." Jodi replied, "I don't usually cook for strangers."
Nolan replied, "Now, now, Mrs. Hahnemann. I'd like for you to cook for us out of the kindness of your heart, not because we're holding guns on y'all. You know, your husband led quite the interesting life." "Did he, now?" Jodi asked, not wanting to hear anything Nolan had to say.
"Oh, yes, Mrs. Hahnemann. Ringo was in the Confederate Army with us, and then he met up with some Yankee boys and decided to go over to fight for them in our uniform.

"Seems like the agendas of our two factions kind of contradict each other, wouldn't you say, Mrs. Hahnemann? One seeking to preserve the Union, the other seeking to turn the American South into it's own country? Now why would Ringo simultaneously fight against the
Confederacy and for the Confederacy? Maybe it's because Ringo never intended to defend the Confederacy at all, because he joined to murder Confederates."
Ringo interjected, "The Confederates attacked the Union first, Nolan." Nolan replied, "The Yankees are occupying our land, and impeding on our rights." "No one has the right to own slaves, Nolan. The Yankees were here long before the Confederates even came into existence. Personally, I recommend peaceful coexistence with the North."
Nolan turned his head over to Jodi and Zora and said to Ringo, "Of course you do, Ringo. You're integrated. You're
practically a Yankee yourself. Even fought for them. Wearing our uniform. But the war's long over, and I had no intention of talking about politics over here in a strictly non-partisan scenario. Let us continue our discussion inside."
