Kaholongo, Gertze appointed as executive directors in president’s office Mateus Kaholongo and ambassador Neville Gertze have been appointed as executive directors in the Office of the President effective 1 June, secretary to Cabinet Emilia Mkusa announced on Friday. Both will serve on fixed term contracts with Kaholongo serving for a period of three years and one month, while Gertze will serve for five years. “I have the pleasure to announce that prime minister Elijah Ngurare, on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission in terms of section 5(1) read together with section 19(a)(1) of the Public Service Act no 13 of 1995, has appointed Kaholongo and Gertze as executive directors at the presidency,” Mkusa said. Kaholongo currently serves as acting executive director in the Office of the President. He previously served as a deputy director in the Office of the Prime Minister. He holds a bachelor’s degree in law and a master’s degree in political science. He also served as a legal practitioner in the High Court, and has 20 years worth of experience. Meanwhile, Gertze will serve in the president’s private office. He holds a bachelor of science and public administration, with over 20 years of experience in diplomacy. He served from 2017 to 2025 as the permanent mission of Namibia to the United Nations in New York. Gertze also served as the commercial councillor to South Africa, at the Namibia High Commission to Malaysia, and as ambassador to Germany.
