June 16, 1964 11:00 PM — Grafton, West Virginia Robert Cockrell (19), a *Grafton Sentinel* reporter, leaves work and heads home. It is a quiet Tuesday night as he travels along Riverside Drive (Route 119) near the Tygart River. Suddenly, something catches his eye. There, on the right side of the road, stands a massive, 7–9-foot-tall, 4-foot-wide bipedal creature. The behemoth is covered in smooth, oily, white skin and has no discernible head. Cockrell, now terrified, races home and locks himself inside. However, his journalistic instincts soon override his fear, and he returns to the scene with friends, Jerry Morse and Jim Mouser. While their investigation uncovers only some trampled grass, the search is plagued by a strange, low whistling sound that follows them. The next day, Cockrell tells his editor of the encounter, but it is dismissed. Regardless, word spreads, and soon, locals begin scouring the countryside for the beast.

Another from #WestVirginia This one has a lot of different pitches. Said to be 7 to 9 ft. tall, 4 ft. wide with white seal-like or stone skin. Walks like a gorilla, no head or it a head in the middle of his chest. I think I nailed a sort of Pokémon vibe.
