"Spend" still isn't a noun, no matter how much your hotshot Sales Director uses it as one.

Sculpt is a verb, not a noun.

Meta is a prefix (or sometimes baaaaarely an adjective), not a noun.

It's "there are four of them," not "there's four of them."

Oklahoma's GOP Governor struggles with grammar.

It's "... there *are* 30,000 state employees ..."

Hey Dorin,

Cam isn't "taking things personal."

That is nonsense.

He's "taking things personally."

Learn about adverbs.

Come on, @937thefan.bsky.social, send your "talent" to some remedial grammar classes if you are going to pay them to speak English on the radio.

Once you know to listen for it (radio, YouTube, etc.), the amount of botched subject-verb agreement from professional English-speakers is nuts.

"There's three in the box."
"There's two things you need to know."
"When there's so many bad guys, it's hard to win."

Gahhhhh!

Come on!

A five-die attack is an attack made with five DICE. It's is not made with five DIE.

There is a #Shatterpoint YouTube channel I really enjoy that has only a few little quirks that shatter ๐Ÿ˜‰ my enjoyment and often get me to turn off the video. Bad grammar is one of those quirks.

Reading English today often makes me feel like I'm reading English from 1000 years ago.

Even in professional, edited, text meant to inform or to sell, the quality of the writing is quite often so horrible, that the message doesn't make sense. It's like a different language.

Paid, professional writers, actors, and marketers are *routinely* using "is" when they should use "are."

I just heard a #homesdotcom radio ad that said "... if there's apartments in your area ..."

Come on. You have the budget. Don't undermine your credibility this way.

It's innnnsaaaaane how many people say "There is three things to do" or "There is dozens of them coming" or the like instead of "there are."

Do they not know how unintelligent they sound?

Sure, they express it as "there's" but that means "there is."

Come on, folks. Be better.

If I had three wishes from a genie, I would totally waste one to have all people who speak for a living understand when to use "there is" versus "there are."

It's not "There's three of them."

It's "There are three of them."

FFS, people, it's not that hard.

The next time a host @937thefan.bsky.social other than Crowley properly uses me/I or subject-verb agreement, it will be the first time.

If there were such a thing as "Neon sign in the sky, praising a post" likes, this would get one.

"Sculpt" is a verb, not a noun. If you refer to a model as a "sculpt" your are demonstrating your lack of knowledge of the English language.

Come on, it's not that hard to use the right words when you are a paid YouTuber making money by using English to communicate.

The physical object of a model is not a "sculpt." It's a "sculpture."

"Sculpt" is a verb.

"Sculpture" is a noun

There are no new 'scuplts' of a, for example, #Warhammer or #Shatterpoint model.

Why? Why?!
Why do so many "professional" speakers and writers get me vs. I wrong? (The latest is the Stinkin' Truth Podcast.)

I hear radio ads all day where a host will say "Join Mike and I ..."

No!

It's Mike and me.
Join Mike.
Join me.

You wouldn't say "Join I."

Grrr.

You don't play "aggressive." You play "aggressively" or you play "aggressive football."

If you say "again" as a lead-in to a point, and you're about to say something you have not referenced before, you need to consider rethinking your language usage.

Since we are about to enter an era of corruption, lawlessness, barbarity, and horror in America, can we please just give me this:

People who use less/fewer, is/are, and me/I incorrectly should be pilloried, or worse.

Dang, we are so poorly educated in the language we speak.

Athletes, coaches, and former jocks who are now broadcasters aren't doing themselves any favors when they forget that adverbs and adjectives exist.

The team didn't "play outstanding." They "played outstanding football" or "played outstandingly."

Nor did they "play physical."

Calling the amount you spend on something your "spend" or your reaction to something a "react" is stupid. It's just like branding something quick as "kwik."

Words matter, idiots.

Marketing sucks, and I say that as someone who worked in marketing.

We're doomed. #Idiocracy

"Didn't play perfect all game."

Hey #NBCSports, when you hire athletes like Devin McCourty to talk on TV, you get what you pay for.

Hire educated, professional broadcasters, not dumb former jocks.

#FootballNightinAmerica

(In case you wondered, it's perfectLY. Adverb.)
