Three Double-Crested #Cormorants, seen at #GrayLodgeWildlifeArea in #NorthernCalifornia. Cormorants are great divers and are often seen in wetlands, lakes, rivers, and reservoirs.

Recently we visited several #birding sites in #NorthernCalifornia. One was the #GrayLodgeWildlifeArea. The mountains in the background are the #SutterButtes, often called the world's smallest mountain range. These eroded volcanic lava domes are almost completely privately owned.
