Step-by-step digital illustration showing the evolution from a soft grayscale sketch to a detailed final artwork. A pale figure with long white hair emerges from dark cocoon-like textures, surrounded by moths. The process highlights value building, texture layering, and contrast adjustments to convey isolation and emotional tension.

From sketch to final render.
I started with a loose grayscale base.
Then I built values first, keeping the palette desaturated to avoid emotional noise too early.
Textures came next: soft brushes for skin, rough strokes for the cocoon.

Last post of the day: a grayscale study of Chun-Li. I saw an image on Pinterest with a similar pose and outfit, and instantly thought it’d be cool to draw Chun-Li in that vibe, lol. Still thinking about painting it someday, haha.

1 brush, 1 color, 1 smudge brush, 1 eraser — trying to keep it simple and focused.

This little batfolk turned out softer than expected. I’m kind of proud of this one.
