The #Moser researchers recorded thousands of #GridCell neurons in rat pups with #Neuropixels.
They found that key navigation network-activity structures - grid cell torus map 🍩 & head direction ring ⭕️ - emerge days before pups open their eyes, ears or start walking. (2:5)
