The Guild Chapel at Stratford upon Avon, which contains highly impressive late medieval paintings. Stratford’s Guild of the Holy Cross founded in the 13thC, with current chapel mostly 15thC. The Guild was suppressed in the 1550s under Edward VI #guildchapel #shakespeare #stratforduponavon

I stopped by Stratford upon Avon’s Guild Chapel today to take another look at its phenomenal medieval wall paintings. Fun fact: William Shakespeare’s father was in charge of their whitewashing following the Reformation. He didn’t do a very thorough job! #guildchapel #stratforduponavon #shakespeare
