A detail from the tapestry "The Two Bulls" by the Manufacture des Gobelins (French, 18th century). A white and brown guinea pig appears at the bottom of the tapestry, alongside flowers, leaves, vines, a basket of fruit, and sliced fruit including a halved watermelon and what looks like it might be a papaya, but don't quote me on that one.

In honor of #GuineaPigAppreciationDay, a detail from an 18th century French tapestry called "The Two Bulls" which according to the museum label was meant to represent nature and culture in NE Brazil, but a pig snuck in somehow. Wheek wheek!
