Digging up an old favorite -- a fan art of Gyruss (NES 1988, Arcade 1983). The rough draft here...

...And the finished image here. The Gyruss starfighter trades fire with a dangerous battle satellite in deep space. Bullets fill the scene, but neither have made a dent... yet. Drawn to simulate the game's unique faux-3d perspective, the fighter traces along a faint range-finder ring. A tab of shield power on the lower left and super-ammo on the lower right are the only UI elements, besides the score of 573mil pts.
