Making hydrogen storage more efficient – that is the goal of the Core-H2storage project. Coordinated by Fraunhofer UMSICHT, the partners are developing versatile, widely accessible, and safe low-pressure hydrogen storage tanks.
#H2storage
Last week, the #EU-funded MOST-H2 project #successfully held a M36 review meeting at the #UniversityofCambridge! The project focuses on developing #monolithic #MOF adsorbents that achieve an optimal balance of volumetric and gravimetric #H2storage capacity.

Me, standing at a wooden podium in a very posh-looking, wood-panelled room. Im looking down at a laptop and talking. I’m wearing a grey jumper.behind me is a sign for the geological survey of Ireland. There’s lots of books on the bookshelves.
Five people sitting on red chairs on a stage as part of a panel. There are two white women, two white women, and me. The room is grand and post, with books and busts on the shelves.
Five people standing in front of a stage, smiling at the camera. There are three white women, two white men, and me. It’s the same style of room as in the previous photos.
A view across the heads of an audience towards the front of the room described in the previous photos. It shows how posh and grand the room is, with books across all shelves in this double-levelled space.
🌍 #TBT last Tuesday, when I was in Dublin 🇮🇪 to give the Inaugural “Geological Society of Ireland “Lecture at the rather posh Royal Irish Academy (RIA) 🤩
Me and my co-author, @cmnosullivan.bsky.social, talked about “Geoscience Solutions for the Climate Crisis”. #geothermal #CCS #H2storage #GDF
Screenshot from a paper in the journal ACS Applied Energy Materials where it is claimed that a material has a hydrogen storage capacity of about 50 wt%.
Those who are somehow familiar with #H2storage may be surprised to see such storage capacities being claimed in a reputed ACS journal.
I alerted the journal more than half a year ago of several things that did not add up in this paper (and another one from the same group). Nothing happened yet...
