Lucifer - Why We Build The Wall | ⛧ Hadestown Reimagined ⛧ This is our adaptation of Why We Build the Wall from the musical Hadestown. In its original form, the song is a chilling piece of call-and-response, where Hades justifies the existence of the Wall as protection. Protection from poverty, from uncertainty, from the unknown. It is less about what is outside, and more about what people can be convinced to fear. The power of the song comes from how easily the logic takes hold, how quickly defense becomes doctrine. In this version, the reasoning shifts. The threat is no longer abstract. Lucifer builds walls not against poverty, but against Heaven itself. In future releases, this song will return through other voices. Sera will have her answer. So will Lute and the Exorcists. Thanks to members of the Frostbite Discord for suggesting some of the graffiti, cameos, and in-joke references. If you are curious, build time for the video was about 17-18 hours. The total compute cost to produce this video was in the range of 200 dollars US. A number I do not expect to recover unless something breaks far beyond my usual reach, and if history is any guide, this one will be lucky to cross 100 views.
